first bookout:
first 10 odd days in the physical training phase was super slack, hardly every felt stretched. the first few days was very busy though and i hardly have time to write any journal entry and after that, i dun get privacy, people just wanna peek at everything you do...yikes. still, i must say i have a relax 10 days, though my arms are now soft like jelly and i am even further away from my first chin up than before. i see what i remember for the first few days schedule:
900-- reached tekong, first thing done was ic is taken away and given a miltary ic known as 11B.
1000-- parents will gather in the auditorium and the oath taking ceremony will begin
1100-- an early lunch and after that, parents will be seen off.
1230-- officially alone and will report to the platoon sergeant.
after that is a series of event which i can't remember clearly, i know we will be issued tons of stuff, all the military kit and stuff...then our hair will be shaved. we also have to learn some basic drills, jab, inteviews with section and platoon commander. never mind if you dun understand all these, you will know when you get there. whatever little time left will be used to unpack your stuff, i only managed to sleep at around 11 even though 10:30pm was the scheduled lights out timing.
day 2:
still tons of administrative stuff, continuation of interview, lots of lectures (yes, army has lectures too)...issuing of more equipment....blah blah, still lots of administrative stuff to be done.
day3: lectures lectures lectures, learn some new stuff like tying of bootlace, folding of uniform, packing field bag, assembling SBO (skeletal battle order), helmet to prepare for route march.
day 4: first pt session....
heck, can't remember what happened, all i remember was the moment pt starts, i get lots of rest and personal time after the last parade ( the term use to describe debriefing), on average 3-4 hours a day. the company next to mine was obese people and i must say they worked thier ass out day in day out while i was slacking slacking and slacking. some points to take notes, almost all higher rank officer past their day by cursing and swearing, have to get used to it. and another thing which i truly felt was the discilpine lifestyle which i have. no more lazing around day in day out kinda stuff, being AP will get you nothing but trouble. sigh, how i miss civilian life. my bunks mates have lost sanity i think they have been singing army songs. hmm...i can't really think straight right now. maybe i will post when i get my brain up again.
